US Series Freewheel |
Performance: The US Series freewheels are not self-centering. It is therefore required to place one or two bearings next tothe freewheel so that the outer race can rotate centrallyto the inner race. US freewheels have ball bearings with the same dimensions as the 62.. Series. The torque forces are transmitted from the shaft to the inner race by means of a key and from the outer race to the seating by means of an interference fit on the r6 tolerance of the external diameter. Shaft tolerance must be either h6 or j7; the tolerances for the seating must be either H7 or J6. Before being put onto service, the freewheels must be lubricated with suitable lubricants following the instructions given on page 12. Oil lubrication is essential when a high number of rotations in neutral is reached. |

GV Series Freewheels |
Performance: GV Series freewheels are with rollers, centering between the inner race and outer race is carried out by means of bushes. The torque forces are transmitted from the shaft to the inner race by means of a key. Shaft tolerance must be h6. When the freewheel is used as a non return device, the lever fixed to the outer race must be sandwiched between two brackets; otherwise a pin must be inserted in the looped hole. When locked to the frame of a machine, it stops the freewheel rotating. If the freewheel is used as an intermittent feed, the lever must be attached lengthways using the hole for a pushrod or similar. In any case, to avoid overloading the bushes, the lever must be given a certain amount of clearance to allow for the axial movement. The freewheel is supplied already greased. |

GLG Series Freewheels |
Performance: The GLG Series freewheels are particularly suitable for applications requiring long operation times in neutral at high speeds. These have the same bodies as the GL series but a cage of the GP series is mounted inside which makes it possible for the bodies to detach when running in neutral to reduce wear. Flanges are from the GL series, see pages 32 to 37 for dimensions. Models with holes 70 and 80 are produced by modifying only the internal ring of the GLG60/GL2G60, for which the same kind of flanges are mounted. The torque forces are transmitted from the shaft to the inner race by means of a key and from the outer race to the external area by means of screws. Shaft tolerances must be h6, whilst tolerances for the driven part must be H7. Grease lubrication with a labyrinth seal allows a high reduction of heat due to oil movement and friction between sealing rings. Each freewheel is supplied with paper gaskets (without paper gaskets, the freewheel can be seriously damaged). |

Performance: The GM Series.... is a cage with contact elements running on a metric sized freewheel race. The smaller dimensions and the high transmission torque offer some interesting technical and cost-saving solutions. Fitting multiple cages side-by-side increases torques. It is necessary to place one or two bearings next to the freewheel so that the outer race can rotate centrally to the inner race. When the sliding race is machined in the seats or on the shafts, the following specifications must be adhered to: 1) 60/62 HRC surface hardness 2) 1 mm minimum depth of tempering after grinding 3) ensure the concentric rotation of the races 4) lubrication suitable for the application. For further information, please contact our Technical Department. |
